Strakastrüka is a new rock beer & coffee bar in Athens in the popular area of Koukaki.
The name is a Greek word for a type of small but very loud firework that used to be very popular with kids when the owners of the bar were kids themselves (they are now in their forties). It was chosen because it signifies that it is a small but very loud venue (rock 'n' roll can only be loud), like its namesake.
Also, in order to emphasize the hard rock / heavy metal identity of the venue, the letter u was written with an umlaut (ü) in order to remind of great hard rock and heavy metal bands that have famously used the umlaut in their name as decoration, like Mötorhead, Blue Öyster Cult, Queensrÿche, Mötley Crüe, etc.
The font used was Rubber B, which at the time was at its early stages of design.
